Bible Note Cards

These cards can help you familiarize yourself with the Bible. For each Bible book, a card gives you: a brief statement of its purpose and/or theme, a minimal outline on the reverse side of most cards, and a few key passages. If you are just beginning, and have never really studied the Bible before, we suggest that you begin by learning the purpose statements for each book. Then move on. Try memorizing the outlines and passages as you actually read through the Bible books. Don't discourage yourself by trying to do more than you can realistically handle. If you already know the Bible fairly well, memorize the purposes and outlines that you don't already know. Add blank cards at the end to list the locations of additional verses or passages that you want to remember. The cards are designed to give you a head start in familiarization. They are NOT a substitute for studying the Bible; they are preparation for it. Useful Bible study requires a foundation of some knowledge and skill. Carry them with you to study when you have a few free moments. Students have studied them while waiting in line to vote, in the doctor's waiting room, during study hall at school, and more. High school students have answered the question, "What's that hanging on your book bag?" by describing their Sunday School class in Bible interpretation and explaining the importance of knowing the Bible.
